Dispatches from the Holy Land - OpenHouses + Another Catfight!
Posted by Shay at 2009-05-10 08:19:52

I was walking around Tel Aviv yesterday, with 2log friend and fan Sharon F. We went into various strangers' houses, looked around a bit, made some jokes about their taste, took some photos, and moved on. Thankfully, we were not arrested since we did this as part of the Houses from Within weekend (part of the global OpenHouse initiative, which includes OpenHouse New York and OpenHouse London).

And while the tour was both interesting and informative, if I know anything about my 2log audience, and the internet in general, I believe you would be more interested in this:

A cat and a crow fighting on the roof of a local bar

Now that I think of it, I should have videotaped them. Damn it, I'll never be a YouTube hit.

Tiny, Furry, and Fiendish!

I don't think I need to tell you that rodents are taking over New York City, that fact has already been established. But did you realize that they are also gaining political power and support? I'm not just talking about the way the MTA provides urban rats with shelter, access to nearly all parts of the city and all the homeless people they can eat, there is a clear pro-rodent lobby in operation, and it is actively working to promote the rights and interests of mice, rats, squirrels, chipmunks, gophers, porcupines, beavers, hamsters, guinea pigs, degus, chinchillas, prairie dogs, groundhogs, capybaras, gerbils, and, most evil of all, rabbits! (not technically rodents, but they lobby together; on the national level Joe Liberman is also affiliated with them). Now, they have also taken over mainstream media outlets (in addition to Disney, which they have controlled for years, distributing pro-rodent propaganda like Ratatouille), including the city's biggest daily devoted to a single street:

And it goes far beyond that, all the way up to the state level, where there is currently a powerful lobby working to change the state capital's name to All Bunny, and alter the flag accordingly:

It's not too late to act, call your state representative now and demand that he/she/it support the NAACCP:
