Let's face it. This election has gotten boring. Winston, Sam, and I are the most hard-core political junkies, and even we can't get excited anymore. The job of the president is to lead, but it's also to entertain, and all candidates are failing at this.
With that in mind, I have to ask why the heck the Clinton campaign is hiding Bill. Bill is great. Even when he was shooting off his mouth and completely screwing up his wife's campaign in South Carolina, it was great to watch him again. He's practically a cartoon character to our generation.

And then it dawned on me. They are the Simpsons. Bill/Homer is loud-mouthed, crude, overweight, and reckless. Completely oafish and immensely lovable despite occasional flashes of idiocy. Chelsea/Lisa is smart and probably deeply embarrassed by her family. Meanwhile, Marge/Hillary is the sane, responsible one who holds the family together. Both are activists against media violence. Both have a gambling problem, (Hillary's being gambling her whole campaign on the inevitability argument.)
The whole thing reads like a textbook Simpsons episode. Marge runs for local office, Homer screws it up by pissing off every African-American in town, but the two of them manage to smooth things over and win somehow.
With that in mind, Hillary needs to take a lesson from the Simpsons on how to stay fresh and entertaining. She has to accept that there are no good Marge episodes. Marge is a necessary part of the show's formula, but it's more of a straight woman role. We need to stay entertained, so we need Homer front and center making mischief. We want him to stick his thumb in Ned Flanders/the Republican Party's eye. We want to see him making bold, idiotic pronouncements easily refuted by facts. We want him to get himself buried neck-deep in his own antics, then grab the shovel and continue digging.
If you're going to win over our generation, you've got to bring back Bill!
