Viacom Mandates Moment of Zen

Aw man.

Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert will be going back to work with no writing staffs.

Network pressure? Seems likely. Those shows are cash cows for Comedy Central. Also, there's the fact that Stewart and Colbert don't seem too pleased. Their statement:

“We would like to return to work with our writers. If we cannot, we would like to express our ambivalence, but without our writers we are unable to express something as nuanced as ambivalence.”

I'm interested to see Conan's first show back, but I REALLY want to see these the night of the 7th. Surely they'll do a ton of strike material, yes? Right? Guys? If Viacom lets you?

Oh, and Kimmel's coming back. But who the hell watches Kimmel?

Colbert has an easy out, since the character he plays on his show is supposed to be a wingnut anyway. Hope he exploits this.
